Our God is the God of bountiful blessings.  In fact, according to Ezekiel, He will send “showers of blessing”.  Everyone experiences ‘dry seasons’ in this life.  Times where we cannot see God, nor feel His presence.  He has given His promise to never leave nor forsake us.  Do not think for one minute that He does not see your seasons of draught.  Rain is most appreciated when it is most needed.  Without it, crops don’t grow, flowers don’t bloom and all of nature loses the vibrancy of the colors of spring.
When rain does come, welcome it.  Don’t miss a single drop of God’s blessings.  He pours them out on us like the rain that produces the harvest.  Without them, life would indeed be barren – and unbearable.  While we experience the ravages of a dry and thirsty land, we do not experience them alone.  The Good Shepherd is with his flock in every season – whether there is rain or not.  Sometimes we get so focused on our own discomfort that we don’t even notice the rain until it threatens to overwhelm us – and then we complain about wet weather.
We do not have a miserly heavenly father who grudgingly gives to his children a little here and a little there.  Malachi teaches us that God wants desperately to “..open the windows of heaven and pour out such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it”.  We are heirs of God, and joint heirs of Christ – and we are given all; freely and generously. Ask Him to not only bless you, but to open your eyes to see His generosity.  The next time you feel a drop of God’s rain, Take down your umbrella and take a long, soul-soaking walk in it.

These are showers, you don’t want to miss.
